Class length: 8 hrs
Attendance prerequisites: None
Target audience: Anyone using cranes or hoists under 15,000lb capacity
Training location space & equipment requirements: Classroom setting for instruction. The site-specific portion of the program requires a walk-through and discussion, including the specific types of cranes/hoists and rigging used, and loads that are lifted. Applicable inspection procedures will be discussed. Pertinent rigging methods and procedures will be discussed. Hands-on training will follow the discussion session.
Learning objectives: The crane/hoist and rigging safety course consists
of a briefing and discussion of the regulatory requirements that govern cranes
and hoists. Rigging safety and procedures are also included in this discussion.
If available, the operating manual for the company's crane/hoist will be reviewed,
with particular emphasis on safety
issues.
Reference and instruction materials: Include course handouts, video, quick reference chart, and certificates at no additional cost.
