Driver Safety Course Outline

Course identification, length and regulatory drivers: This is a one-on-one course. The following is Du-All Safety's course outline used to identify hazardous conditions associated with individual driving styles, polish an individual's driving skills, and train an employee how to avoid accidents. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate identifying that they have been properly trained on transportation safety.

Class length: 4 hours

Attendance prerequisites: Have a valid California drivers license.

Target audience: Employees who have vehicular accidents.

Training, location space & equipment requirements: Quiet office or conference room and client vehicle.

Learning objectives: To maneuver vehicles safely and avoid accidents.

Reference and instruction materials: Handout. The course material includes course reference binder, test, checklist, and handbook. Certificates are provided at no additional cost.

Evaluation instrument(s): Driver proficiency evaluation form

Refresher training frequency: None required

Sequence of Instruction:

A 20-minute conference with the individual's supervisor.
A 20-minute conference with the student.
The student to complete a 100 question driver safety questionnaire.
Review the best answers of the questions where the employee may have missed the target.
A brief review of Federal and State transportation compliance requirements.
Pre-trip inspection.
Two hours of on-the-job, behind-the-wheel, driving observation, critique, and skill improvement exorcises.
A 10-minute debrief with the employees supervisor.
