Emergency Spill Response Course Outline

Course identification, length and regulatory drivers: The following is Du-All Safety's class outline used to conduct emergency spill training.

Class length: 4-8 hours depending on type and amount of potential spills

Attendance perquisites: Students must attend a HazCom class

Target audience: Employees who may respond and clean up hazardous material spills.

Training location space & equipment requirements: Classroom setting with a TV, VCR, PowerPoint projector, laptop and backdrop. This equipment can be provided by Du-All Safety. Also, an open area where we will be allowed to perform a water spill demonstration.

Learning objectives: To properly control the release of Hazardous materials, use spill equipment, notify authorities as needed, decontaminate areas, use proper personal protective equipment, and dispose of waste properly.

Reference and instruction materials: The class cost includes all course materials, sample PPE, DOT placard charts, emergency guidebooks, certificates, etc. A list of emergency spill equipment needed on site to effectively control a hazardous material spill will be provided by Du-All Safety. This list will be developed during an evaluation of the site prior to instruction.

Evaluation instrument(s): Standard evaluation form and a 10 question test (optional)

Refresher training frequency: Annually
