Hazard Communication

Course identification, length and regulatory drivers: The following class outline is used to conduct Hazard Communication training in compliance with 8, CCR 5194.

Course length: 2 Hours

Attendance prerequisites: None

Target audience: Employees who handle or work around hazardous material or supervisors who direct employees who handle hazardous materials.

Training, location space & equipment requirements: Classroom setting with backdrop. Chemical inventory & MSDS binder.

Learning objectives: To understand the hazards associated with hazardous materials that employees use and how to obtain and understand information regarding the proper and safe handling, storage, and use of these materials.

Reference and instruction materials: The course will be based on a review of the Hazard Communication requirements, specific hazardous materials used on site(s) as well as any specific issues the hazardous material manager would like to address. HazCom Program Written handout(s), sample placards, signs, labels, and MSDS will be used.

Evaluation instrument(s): Standard course evaluation form and 10 form question test (optional)

Refresher frequency: Du-All safety recommends annually.
