

Course identification, length and regulatory drivers: The following outline is used to conduct Lockout Tagout training in accordance with 8 CCR 3314. Supplementary materials include reference to the pertinent Federal OSHA regulations, 29 CFR 1910.147.
Class length: 2 hours
Attendance prerequisite: none
Target audience: Employees who work with and/or need to control hazardous energy, including electrical, pnumatic, hydro, compressed gas, etc.
Training location space & equipment requirements: Classroom setting with tables, chairs, and whiteboard.
Learning objectives: At the conclusion of this class, the attendee will be able to: (1) determine the difference between Authorized and Affected Employees; (2) discuss the responsibilities of Authorized and Affected Employees; (3) determine when and how to apply lockout / tagout hardware; (4) describe the procedure.
Reference and instruction materials: Lockout/Tagout Program, Written handout(s), practice forms and worksheets, and sample devices and tags for demonstrations.
Evaluation instrument(s): Evaluation Form and a 10 question test (optional)
Refresher training frequency: Annual program review is required.
