

Course identification, length and regulatory drivers: The following outline is used to conduct a Respiratory Protection training class in accordance with the pertinent Cal/OSHA regulations, 8 CCR 5144: and reference to the pertinent Federal OSHA regulations, 29 CFR 1910.134.
Class length: 2 hours
Attendance prerequisites: Pass medical surveillance requirement. Please see medical surveillance option list.
Training location space & equipment requirements: Classroom setting with tables, chairs, overhead projector and whiteboard.
Learning objectives: At the conclusion of this class, the attendee will be able to: (1) determine the correct respirator for a specific hazard; (2) discuss permissible exposure limits; (3) clean and store a respirator correctly; (4) conduct a positive and negative fit test.
Reference and instruction materials: Respiratory protection program, handouts, practice forms, and worksheets.
Evaluation instrument(s): Standard evaluation form and 10 question test (optional)
Refresher training frequency: Annually
Sequence of Instruction:
Required medical surveillance and fit-testing is available, and can be arranged on site at the request of the client.
