Who Takes It: This course will authorize you to become a Traffic Control Technician (TCT). You’ll learn to manage traffic safely with tools like traffic control devices, setting up a traffic control work zone, and mastering set-up/removal of work zones for day, night, and emergencies. By course end, you’ll pass a 20-question exam and complete skill evaluation practical, ready to enhance California road safety.

- Review of California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD), Part 6, “Temporary Traffic Control”.
- Section 7-1.03 “Public Convenience”, and Section 7-1.04 “Public Safety”, and Section 12 “Temporary Traffic Control” of the Standard Specifications.
- Cover standard flagger practices for various situations.
- Traffic Control System Standard Plans (T Plans) applicable to highway work zones in California.
- Pedestrian accessibility and Bicycle considerations.
- Quality Guideline for Temporary Traffic Control Devices and Features.
